About ThisDish

Every review used to be a guess.

ThisDish exists because reviews were broken for the person reading them, and useless for the restaurant trying to act on them. We're fixing that, one verified receipt at a time.

Why we started

A frustrated
diner's problem.

ThisDish didn't start with a restaurant owner. It started with a diner, scrolling through reviews before dinner, trying to figure out what was actually worth ordering, and coming up empty.

Star ratings could come from someone who'd never set foot in the restaurant. Reviews were about the wait, the parking, the ambiance, rarely the dish itself. And every so often, something read a little too polished to be real. None of it told you what to order.

That gap is what ThisDish was built to close: reviews tied to a real visit, a real receipt, and a specific dish, not a vague impression of the whole night.

Our mission

To help restaurants make better menu decisions through receipt-verified dish intelligence.

Our vision

A world where every menu decision is backed by real guest experience.

The problem

Restaurants are guessing at the one thing they shouldn't have to.

Instinct

Gut feel

The signature dish stays on the menu because it always has, not because anyone's confirmed it's still what brings guests back.

POS data

What sold, not why

Sales data shows what moved. It can't tell you whether a guest loved it, tolerated it, or ordered it because everything else was sold out.

Generic reviews

Feedback about the wrong thing

Star ratings fold an entire night, service, wait, ambiance, into one number that says almost nothing about any single dish.

How we're different

Real guests. Real visits.
Real dishes.

Every review on ThisDish is tied to a verified receipt, so restaurant owners aren't reading opinions from strangers who never sat down. They're reading feedback from guests who actually ordered, actually ate, and actually paid.
